Become Part of Our Family

We are so happy that you have joined us on this journey. Our names are Chad and Kristin Conner and we have both lived in Bedford County for almost 20 years. Chad grew up on a farm near Winchester, VA. His entire family farmed and most of them lived on the same road. I grew up on Smith Mountain Lake in Franklin County. While I didn’t grow up on a farm, I considered myself a farm girl. I loved all things country – trucks, fishing, beautiful farmland. I have always been a “country girl” at heart. My Dad’s side of the family owned a large farm in Franklin County and it was in the Tyree family for well over 100 years. Some of my best memories as a child were visiting “Rose Lane Farm.”

We are the proud parents to 4 AMAZING children. They range in age from 7 to 18. Three boys, and one girl. Our hands are full, but not as full as our hearts. They are truly the lights of our lives. We love to travel and go on adventures. Most summer weekends you can find us at Smith Mountain Lake and in the winter we enjoy escaping to Snowshoe, WV to go snow skiing. We never sit still. Our families always tell us to slow down….. but we don’t have time! We are too busy making memories.

We made our home on our 13-acre farm back in 2012. We have loved life at our little “farmette.” The name of this farm is Sow Blessings Farm, which I adopted from the bible. I firmly believe that if you plant “sow” blessings, you will receive them abundantly in return. And boy, has God been so good and gracious to us. We were married on our farm and became a family there….it truly is home. Our farm has been the home to many Angus and Hereford cows, a donkey, chickens, ducks….and a few dairy calves over the years. It was even once the home of a very ornery pony. In 2021 we purchased 60 acres right down from our home. We had always dreamed of expanding our farm and over the years we had prayed about how we could open our farm up to the community. After attending a wedding of a close friend, God laid it on our hearts that we should open a wedding/event center where we could help support our farm and share our love of agriculture with others. We began construction of the barn in June and hosted our very first wedding in October of that year. This has opened so many doors for us, brought some many people into our lives and left us blessed beyond all measure - thanks to God above.

We are often asked where the name “Spring Rose Lane Farm” came from. Going back to the love of my family’s farm “Rose Lane Farm” I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate that into the name of our new farm. I added “Spring” to the beginning due to the abundance of springs on our property - and there she was born “Spring Rose Lane Farm.”

Since then, God has continued to bless our family and we were able to purchase another farm across the street from our home giving us a total of 140 acres between the three farms. This farm is our “Green Acres” location and we kept the original name of this farm because it is what the former owners called it for many years. It boast a gorgeous view of The Peaks of Otter (as seen in our family picture above). This farm is available to our couples for engagement, bridal and wedding portraits.
